Past President Carol Wallace called the meeting to order. Kristen Hathcock led the invocation, pledge, and Four-Way Test. Blair Allen assisted with the introduction of guests. Our guests were Paige Messerall, Ed Lunz, Trip Tripathi, Ben Daniels, Ben Swearingen, and Lara Bryan. Michelle Emerson Lewis helped with Happy Dollars. Ginny Harris was happy to be cancer-free with no surgery. Kathy McGee was happy about the new park named in honor of her late father-in-law opening this week. Michelle Ledford was happy about her Rotary Anniversary. Jim Russell was happy about retiring effective last Tuesday after 47 years.
Dorsey Hightower led the club in the singing of the Roary version of Anchors Aweigh. Announcements began with Past President Carol Wallace thanked everyone who attended the Lake Wire Cleanup day and then recognized new Rotarians who exchanged their red badges for blue badges.  Lori Martini presented her son Andy Lingenfelter with a Paul Harris Fellow.
Rick Maxey introduced our speaker, Congressman Scott Franklin. Congressman Franklin provided a non-political overview of his experience in the House of Representatives. He discussed how his office operates similarly to a small business (hire staff, lease office space, etc). He talked about how he’s working to help improve the dangerous I-4/State Road 33 interchange and exit. Thank you Congressman Frankin for coming back to speak to our club.
Past President Carol Wallace then rang the bell to conclude the meeting.
