President Carol reminded us to sign up for Spring Obsession and the Bonnet Springs Park tour (Feb 13). Do that at the back table for Spring Obsession and here for BSP.

Carol then announced who our president will be after Joel Ivy’s term. Nate Dunham is our president-elect-elect, and will work to rebuild the club from the wreckage of Joel’s year. (We kid, Joel will do OK. Probably.)

Alice Hunt introduced our program, which was a view into Florida Polytechnic through the eyes of students. We had three seniors who were talking with us about their capstone project to finish out their programs. It was an amazing look into our brightest minds. Lauren, Gabe and Stefan are part of a multi-disciplinary team building a prototype of a Mars rover. They represent mechanical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering. It was amazing to hear what they are doing! Then Dr. Matt Bohm, who leads the capstone program for the university, told us about the Capstone Design Showcase event in April. Learn more here

50/50: Steve Miller handled the cards and Jim Russell drew a 6.

Next program: “Be More Interesting Than a Cell Phone,” with Deedra Daniel.
