The Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club is pleased to announce its 2017 academic scholarship program. High School Seniors attending Simsbury and Granby High Schools are eligible for these scholarships. Scholarships are offered for students attending four year colleges and vocational/technical schools. Students can obtain the applications at the guidance departments of both Simsbury and Granby High Schools.
For students attending four year colleges there are (4) Rotary Scholarships at $4,000 each and (1) Ed Dodge Scholarship at $7,000. There is (1) Vocational Scholarship at $3,000 for a total of $26,000 in academic scholarship funds available. Deadlines for completed applications are April 21st for the four year college scholarships and May 26th for the Vocational/technical schools.
The Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club looks at several criteria: community service, academic record, financial need, teacher recommendations, work experience, awards received and special circumstances. The local Rotary Club raises funds for these scholarships through various fund raisers such as the upcoming River Run on April 30th and the Rotary Hopmeadow Golf Tournament on June 27th.
