Dear Rotarians,

Hurricane Harvey has caused massive destruction in Texas and more recently in Louisiana.  As Rotarians,  we know that support sent to Rotary Clubs and Districts in the areas most impacted will be used wisley in addressing this tremendous humanitarian crisis.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall last Friday night between Port Aransas and Port O'Connor, Texas as a Category 4 storm with winds of 130 MPH. The US has not had a Category 4 Hurricane make landfall since 2004.  As we have seen in news reports, the flooding and damage have been catastrophic and recovery may take a very long time.

We have made contact with Rotary international and Rotary District 5930 which includes the area where Harvey made landfall.
I spoke briefly with District Governor Roberta "Betty" Ramirez-Lara- (www.Rotarydistrict5930.org).

Rotary District 5930 has partnered with McAllen North Rotary Fund - a 501 (c) 3 (Fed Tax ID # 27-3855943) to set up an Emergency Relief Fund.   Contributions can be made to:
