Village Health Partnership/Ethiopia

Peter Van Arsdale is the director of African Initiatives and adjunct professor at the Korbel school of International studies at the University of Denver. He is going to speak to us about the Village Health Partnership VHP.

VHP has treated 175 women that suffer with gynecological complications of childbirth and obstetric fistula. They are on track in 2019 to do the same thing. Data collected at the time of admission to Aria hospital and then in the field following surgery, confirms that the program is laying the foundation for a system of care in Western Ethiopia that breaks down barriers to seeking, reaching and receiving medical assistance to many women in need.
