Rotary Leadership Institute

Embrace the opportunity to be a life-long learner by participating in the Rotary Leadership Institute.  The purpose of the institute is to help future and current leaders of Rotary in acquiring knowledge about the organization and important leadership skills that are transferable in every aspect of life.  The Rotary district to which we belong (6290) believes in the importance of the institute so much that for every member a club sends to training, the District will cover the cost of a second member to participate.  There are 3 levels to the training and various dates provided each year for members to take advantage of the wonderful learning opportunities available.  For more information on the institute and how to register, please visit http://www.ridistrict6290.org/page/rotary-leadership-institute .

With so many nonprofits in the area, it's difficult to help all of them financially.  Laura Huth-Rhoades of Do Good Consulting has made it her mission to assist nonprofits for the past 13 years.  With over 25 years experience in the nonprofit and small business world, Laura has a lot of wisdom to share.  Here are the top ten tips she presented on helping nonprofits:

10 Simple things you can do to support your favorite nonprofit without spending a single dime
  1.  Tell Someone – word of mouth
  2. Email Signature – add to your signature line
  3. Like, Share & Comment – on social media
  4. Forward Emails – forward newsletters and emails
  5. Participate – get involved with the organization
  6. Carry Brochures – hand them out – keep a stash with you
  7. LTE – write a letter to the editor
  8. Don’t Recycle – reuse newsletters, brochures you get from them and pass it out to someone
  9. Bling! – get their t-shirts, magnets, etc.
