MAY 27
The power of Rotary is similar to your two hands.  The left hand represents the 1.2 million Rotarians all around the world.  The right hand represents  the Rotary Foundation which is responsible for raising and spending money for the left hand to do the good work around the world.

As an example:  The left hand (Rotarians) have vaccinated more than 2.5 BILLION children against polio.  The money needed for this project came from the Foundation - or the right hand.  Where does the Foundation get all of this important money?  From the 1.2 million Rotarians (the left hand) who donate each year.  Last year alone the Foundation (the right hand) funded 1400+ global grants which totaled nearly 100 million dollars.  The left hand is the manpower for spending the right hand's money.

Of the 60 Rotary clubs in our District Lowell has been #1 in giving to the Rotary Foundation for several years.  We have many generous individuals right here in Lowell who consistently send money to the Foundation (the right hand) so that the left hands around the world can do good "stuff".
