Apr. 30, 2024 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Hello all, Please join the Montrose Rotary Club in a visit to the Outer Range on Tuesday, April 30. This event will replace our normal meeting at the Bridges. The Outer Range is an outdoor education program through the Montrose County School District for preschoolers through high school. It is the type of school we all wished we could have attended growing up. Should be an interesting opportunity to see the variety of school options our school district offers. The Outer Range is located on the School District Headquarters campus. A map is attached for your benefit. Please plan to arrive by about 11:30, as we will need to park at Riverbottom Park. Enter off Rio Grande Ave onto Apollo Road. Follow the road into Riverbottom Park (near the duck pond). Walk north on the pathway on the west side of the duck pond until you reach the School District campus. Many will recognize this is where we attach stickers to our dictionaries in December. As you walk north through the campus, go to the right (east) of the warehouse where we apply the stickers. Continue north, past the early childhood education center on your right to the end of the gravel road. The Outer Range has yurts and teepees and is on the left. There is VERY limited parking on the School District Campus. If you are able to walk in, please park at Riverbottom. We will provide sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and soft drinks/water. After a quick lunch, we will tour the Outer Range campus and learn about their programs. I know these directions can be confusing, so I would appreciate about 3 Rotarians to help show the others where to go. Please email me if you are willing to help. We are trying to get a good count of those who plan to attend this special event. Please let me know if you plan to come and if you plan to bring a guest. Thanks, Emily Schneider
