Local Rotary Clubs Provide School Supplies
Grand Junction, CO – On Friday July 31, local Rotary Clubs members will load up their cars and trucks school supplies at the North Avenue Walmart for delivery to schools throughout the Grand Valley.
These much needed supplies will be provided to students in need and includes everything from pens and pencils, to notebooks, to calculators and everything in between. Throughout the year, members of area Rotary clubs contribute to a program that provides the funds to make this valuable program possible.
The project is a collaboration of Grand Junction area Rotary Clubs that has been one of the hallmark local Rotary programs for many years. The goal is, and has always been, to raise money for the ordering and distribution of school supplies to our local schools just before school opens each year.
Supplies are distributed to all elementary and middle schools in D51 as well as Charter Schools and Parochial schools. Each school receives supplies based on the number of students they have enrolled.  Each year this program has been able to provide schools supplies valued at more than $16,000.00.
Photo Opportunity: The Rotary Club members will be convening at the North Ave Walmart on Friday, July 31 beginning at 7:00 am to load up their vehicles and deliver supplies to the schools - A perfect opportunity to send your photographer for a community service photo.
