Question of the day: What are you thankful for?

·         November bingo was our most successful bingo fundraiser yet; many thanks to Rocky Moss and the Dolores Chamber for their support.

·         January bingo beneficiary is The Bridge Emergency Shelter.

·         February bingo beneficiary is Disabled American Veterans, to benefit the new Veterans Outreach Center in Cortez.

·         March bingo beneficiary is the Dolores Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization.

·         April bingo beneficiary will be Dolores High School’s student trip to Ireland, organized by DHS teacher Lisa Vaughn. Lisa also wants the DHS Sophomore Class to be a bingo beneficiary. Since all the 2014-2015 dates are now full, Laurel will encourage Lisa to book a 2015-2016 season bingo date for the sophomore class. Contact Dr. Allan Burnside to book 2015-2016 bingo season dates.

·         Holiday lights update: we received an $878 bankruptcy settlement from the holiday wreaths order we lost. Hillside lights are scheduled to be turned on Nov. 28. Wreaths will be put up along Railroad Avenue/Hwy 145 in town on Dec. 5.

·         Keep selling the pistol raffle tickets!

·         Dictionaries distribution is complete, thanks to Dave, Vic, and Tom. Laurel passed around a Dolores Star photo of one class with their dictionaries…so cute!

·         Galloping Goose Historical Society: several club members met with the GGHS board and staff on Nov. 18. We and the GGHS agreed that we want to find a way for GGHS to continue to hold excursions because that is a major source of funding for the Goose maintenance and operations. Ed Merritt provided documentation that GGHS did not have that may clarify the Goose ownership issue. It was agreed that Rotary and GGHS will attempt to meet with the Town of Dolores in a workshop so that we may arrive at consensus about Goose issues. GGHS has the action to get our team on the town workshop agenda.

·         The club bylaws review effort is continuing.

·         Reminder that a club photo will be taken at the Dec. 16 holiday dinner; Rocky Moss will arrange for the photo.

·         Next commodities distribution is Dec. 6, when there are many other Dolores-related activities also happening. Dec. 6 will be a good day to stay and shop in Dolores!

·         Deanna is taking dinner sign-ups for the Dec. 16 Holiday Dinner meeting. Laurel will e-mail the club the menu selections and sign-up instructions.

·         Guest speaker Jay Anderson spoke about ISIS and Middle East issues.

Meeting adjourned by Laurel.
