Coming up on Saturday at the Garden of the Gods Club is Flight, our annual fundraiser to support our Service Fund with special support for D11.
This annual auction of our Butterflies takes a lot of work -- I'd like to recognize the people behind the scenes of this year's event. Give each of them a personal "thank you" for their special effort to make Flight a success.
Andrea Trout & Anya Kasischke -- the leadership team who have organized the effort.
Mike McGrath -- Sponsorships
Ashley Lawrence -- Petite Butterfly Ambassador
Cass Mullane & Andrea Box-- Artist Ambassadors -- the link between the committee and the artists, plus many others.
Claudine Dickson -- Treasurer
Rodney Gullatte -- Website & Social Media Marketing
Jason Aguilar -- Fabrication
Charlie Brown -- Permits to display
Linda Crespin -- Silent Auction
Brittany Smaridge -- Raffle Chair
Also a note of thanks to all of the members who provided silent auction items, bottles of wine for the wine pull, sold raffle tickets, and helped at the events.
Hope to see you Saturday evening at the Garden of the Gods Club.
I hope all is well with you. I am happy to report I just finished my first Rotary event in England, the Rotary Scholars Link Weekend in Warwick. It was nearly 54 scholars from across 12 countries. A lovely and brilliant crew -- from designers working at the intersection of design and health to doctors to statisticians to nuclear weapon lawyers, it was a fascinating group.
We had a session on public speaking, British culture, culture shock, and the work of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland. We also met some local club members and were treated to fish and chips and some nice English puddings.
Overall, it was incredibly humbling to be amongst such prestigious Rotary scholars and made me feel privileged to be a part of this year's cohort.
Are you too big to dig in the dirt or talk to the animals? We hope not, because we’d like your help with a Rotary effort on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The time commitment is four hours, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
