It's almost summer. As the popular tune* goes: The days are longer, the nights are shorter, the sun is shining, it's noticeably warmer. It's only natural that we look to these longer, lovely days and think of how nice it would be to share our favorite hobbies and activities with like-minded friends. And we can! Have you considered joining a Rotary fellowship?
Warning: I'm stealing a lot of this fellowships "plug" verbatim from elsewhere. Am I really phoning it in so close to the end of the Rotary year? Yes, absolutely. Also, I have not made a single "Fellowship of the Ring" reference herein, for which I demand ALL the credit. You have no idea how much it pains me to refrain.
June is designated Rotary Fellowships Month to recognize the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests, promote increased participation in fellowships, and increase understanding of this program. Especially now that we organize our lives in a series of Zoom and Skype meetings, Fellowship provides opportunities for Rotarians to make lasting friendships outside their own Club, District or country. We've talked before about fellowships at our regular meetings (ah, those halcyon days of yore), and you can find a listing of fellowships at www.rotary.org/fellowships.
Rotary Fellowships empower their members to pursue their passions and connect with new friends in Rotary from all over the world. They unite members who share a particular vocation or have mutual interests in the same field. While most Rotarians join fellowships to connect with their international professional counterparts, to find an outlet for hobbies, and to meet new friends, the unique service opportunities these groups offer keep their members especially active and engaged in Rotary.

The Rotaract Clubs participating in the Wake Up! International Project gathered in a virtual event to celebrate the completion of one of the stages of the project. The clubs were awarded in several categories, like the best photos of the environment and best promotion and support of the international project. The Rotaract Club of Francisco Beltrão, District 4640, presented the project "Uma Curtida, Uma Árvore (One Like, One Tree)", that had reforestation and environmental awareness as its main goals, and was awarded for the highest number of trees planted within the Wake Up! project, with 3800 trees planted. We thank the coordinators of the Wake Up! International Project for the award and the opportunity to participate in this important project that united many clubs around the world.
