The Nicaragua Water Project is a club partnered with Rotary Interact, and its purpose is to raise $15,000 to help build a water filtration system in a town in a village in Nicaragua, El Crucero. At this point, the club has raised $5,000 through various fund raising projects and coming up pretty soon, Palmer will host another fundraising event that they would want anyone you to be a part of. On December 2nd from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. to December 3rd from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Palmer will be hosting an art show. If you’re interested in showcasing your art,  all you need to do is to send your art to Palmer High School, say your art is a donation for the Nicaragua Water Project Art Show, and provide your name and a suggested price. We provided backpacks for students two years ago, and the students
loved their backpacks and the items in the backpacks … they are appreciative of our Rotary Club.
 
Now we have an opportunity to have someone (or more than one Rotarian) to work in the Griffith Centers Library.  The
tasks would be to sort through donated books to pull out those that would be appropriate for Griffith Centers kids and 
organize the existing books into categories and/or reading levels.

By doing this, we would be helping teachers provide the most appropriate reading books for their students.

You would be working with Judy Casey on this project — let us know if you are interested!  It probably would mean 3-4
