Rotary Club of Colorado Springs Bulletin Sept.7 (Sep 07, 2023)

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Grand Flight Reveal on Friday, September 1st. We had a wonderful turnout from both Rotarians and community members. If you were unable to make it the gorgeous butterfly and dragonfly sculptures will be on display on the Northwest Lawn of the Pioneers Museum and the petite butterflies will be in the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR) until September 22nd. Our annual Flight Gala and Auction is coming up quickly on September 23rd. Be sure to purchase your tickets and invite those who may be interested in attending in person or virtually to purchase tickets or register to bid at https://flight.givesmart.com. The artists have truly outdone themselves this year and created some amazing pieces of artwork.

Ron Rubin has shared a wonderful update that Rotarian Bill Kettles would still welcome visitors. Ron will be stopping by to say 'Hello' to Bill after Friday's meeting and anyone who would like to come along is welcome to join him. Bill is currently staying in Hospice at Brookdale Skyline (2365 Patriot Heights, Room 407B, Colorado Springs, CO 80904) and his phone number is 719-357-3915.

This Friday we have a speaker change and will be joined by Geoff Cochran, the Annual Giving Officer for the Rotary Foundation. He will provide updates on the Foundation and offer time for questions and answers as well. We will also have order forms available for the Rotary shirts previously ordered in May. If you missed your chance to order before now is the time! Kay Rendleman will be collecting order forms and can answer any questions.

On Friday, September 15th we will welcome back a favorite from last year, Futurist Thomas Frey with a Report from the Future. RSVP HERE.

Invite your friends or coworkers to join us for Food, Drinks and Games (Cornhole, Bocce Ball, Putting Green, Volleyball and other yard games as well as indoor fun with Pool Tables and Virtual Golf). Geoff Cochran

The Impact of Your Giving

Geoff Cochran is the Annual Giving Officer with The Rotary Foundation, with a special focus on Zones 26 and 27. He is part of a team within The Foundation’s staff who apply giving trends, data analysis, and connections to empower Rotary leaders to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors, fund more grants, and create a strong pipeline of philanthropic support for The Rotary Foundation.

Geoff has been with Rotary International for four years filling various roles, but comes to the Foundation from a decades long career in nonprofit administration and management. He has a MS in Public Service Management, has volunteered on various boards and committees, and is a firm believer in Rotary’s motto “Service above self.”
