Well, tick tock, time is running out on us for this year’s fundraiser! It’s only one week away. Tickets are available at csflight.org and they are $59 for individual tickets. Table sponsorships are also available. All “invoiced” Rotarians will receive a credit back per the regular cost of your Friday luncheon as the "Flight Lite Social and Silent Auction" takes the place of our regular meeting on that day, so you will only pay the difference between regular lunch cost and the $59 ticket. Remember, there's no regular 12:15 meeting on the 7th.
In order for this event to be successful, we need your participation! In the way of selling Raffle Tickets… attending the event… and purchasing butterflies! Bring your family and friends to this year’s event! It will be a fun afternoon/evening, filled with live music, great food and drinks and exciting competition in bidding on these beautiful butterflies. In fact, you don’t even have to wait to bid….
Start NOW! Log on to csflight.org and “View Items”. From there, you can place your bids.
Beyond this, we need HELP in setting up the event on either Thursday, September 6th, or Friday, morning September 7th (TBD).
We need at least 20 able and willing bodies to haul in plants, and flowers and decorations for our “Butterfly Garden”! We just brought on Harding Nursery as a sponsor and all of the beautiful garden plants will also be for sale at the event. Anything we don’t sell, though, we will be torn out and returned to them on Saturday.
We also need at least 6 people (Primers?!) to help register attendees for the event and close out the sales after it.
On behalf of the steering committee, thanks to all who have sponsored or helped in any way so far: Caryn Adams/Raffle Tickets design and implementation and to many of you who have sold tickets, both raffle and event, arranged music/Jean Feist, sponsorships/Mike McGrath, visited other clubs to promote the event, Kay Rendelman, Judy Casey and Curt Ormand, helped set up and serve at COPPeR at the unveiling, Lynn Boutte and Terri Cain for photography, and very special thanks to Josh Slate who set up this year’s website and to Larry McCants who has done a tremendous job in interfacing with the Gestures site for bidding. I’m sure by September 7th, we’ll have many more to thank!
Folks, this is OUR FUNDRAISER… not just the Flight Committee’s. It takes everyone’s participation to make it happen. And remember the adage “Many Hands Make Light Work”….. ?! If you can be of help, please contact Cass Daley at: 719-332-0005 or Annie Valades at: 719-321-0050
What a wonderful program we had last week presented by the Rotary Club of Bisceglie, Italy. Club President Nadia di Liddo and others from the club presented our club with wonderful videos and narratives about her club in Italy. We also heard about the beautiful area of Italy on the Adriatic surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Members of our club will be heading there later this year. What a wonderful Rotary exchange opportunity we are fortunate to be a part of.
Cass Daley, Vance Valades, and Annie Valades from The Rotary Club of Colorado Springs talk about the history of The Rotary Club, programs they’ve funded in our community, and the 11th Annual Rotary FLIGHT Event. To listen to the podcast, click on the following link.
Regular Meeting Replaced by Flight Lite Event at Antler's Hotel
All Rotary members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate. Normal meeting costs will be credited towards Flight Lite Event, so Social event is only an additional $25. Additional information at CSFlight.org or contact Annie Valades and Cass Daley.
