Rotary Club of Colorado Springs Bulletin August 23 (Aug 24, 2023)

Did you hear the news? We received our 2022 - 2023 Rotary Citation! Thank you to all our members for making us the Best Rotary Club in Colorado Springs, it is through your commitment and dedication that we are able to meet our club goals. Each year the club is given an opportunity to set up to 24 club goals. In order to receive the Rotary Citation the club must meet at least 13 of the goals selected. Last year we set 19 goals and achieved or surpassed 17!

This week we will not be having a Friday meeting but instead will be having our Rotary lunch on Monday, August 28th following the Whitney Memorial Golf Tournament. Please arrive at the Colorado Springs Country Club (3333 Templeton Gap Road 80907) at 12:30 pm for a 12:45 pm start time. The Country Club did let me know that afternoon rain showers may occur, due to this chance our lunch for all Rotarians and Golfers will take place inside the Country Club and not on the patio as done in years past.

District Conference Registration is now open! This year's conference will be held October 13 - 15 at the Antlers Hotel. Read below for more information on what to expect at the conference and details to register. Last year we had 8 members (with a goal of 3) attend the district conference. This year we have a goal of having 10 members attend and I hope you will consider helping us meet that goal.

We are still collecting donations for One Nation Walking Together (ONWT). If you would like to participate bring school supplies each Friday to donate to ONWT school supply drive! You can learn more about ONWT and choose to make a direct donation at their website.

We are excited to share that we will be placing another Rotary shirt order. Kay Rendleman will be coordinating this effort. Be on the lookout for an email with the order form which will also be available at our Sept. 8th and subsequent meetings.

Flight Reveal: Friday, Sept. 1st, 5:30 - 7:30 PM - View the garden-sized butterflies and dragonflies on the Northwest lawn of the Pioneers Museum while the petite-sized butterflies will be on display inside COPPeR *Please note there is also no lunch meeting Sept. 1st since we have the Golf Tournament Monday and Reveal Friday night.
Flight Season of Wings Gala and Auction: Saturday, Sept. 23rd at the Hilton DoubleTree. Doors open at 4:00 PM - Purchase your tickets or sign up to be a sponsor HERE. Raffle tickets have been mailed out to each member and are $10/ticket. Please ensure your ticket stubs are returned for the Raffle Drawing before September 23rd. Extra Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at each meeting.

Thank you to Immediate Past President, Board of Directors, and Club Members for a great 2022-2023 year! Our club earned the Rotary Citation for achieving the club goals set for the 2022-2023 year.

Last week we had an insipiring meeting by DG Greg Sund sharing how we can take action with mental health and implement inovative ways to meet membership goals.

No Meeting - Attend lunch on Aug. 28th

There will no be a meeting held on June 25th, the meeting will instead take place on Monday, August 28th to support the 4th Annual Whitney Golf Tournament at the Colorado Springs Country Club.
