Today Dan Hillman and myself will be on Loving, Living, Local this morning to share about the Call for Artists and Sponsorship opportunities for Wings of Change (formerly Flight). Tune in and be sure to share with any artists or sponsorship connections in your life.
Yesterday, the Impact Club had their official charter meeting to be recognized by Rotary International. The meeting had great energy with 21 people in attendance. For the charter we took a moment to reflect on the purpose of Rotary:
Rotary is a group of people with a purpose- To make a difference to have an Impact
We are sometimes called People of Action – but our action have a purpose or object
The object of Rotary is to encourage and promote the ideal of service – this goal is summarized in what we call our Rotary motto- Service Above Self
Our newest members who have joined the Impact Club may be attending a Friday meeting over the next few weeks and I hope you are able to take a moment to say "hello" and introduce yourselves. We also encourage any traditional Friday members to come to an Impact meeting at anytime. Their meetings will continue to take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at Black Bear Diner on Garden of the Gods Road.
I'd like to give a special shout-out to club member Chloe Henry for her work submitting the Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity Interfiath Dialogue Report which resulted in winning the International Silver Medal for the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week. If you have any interest in reading the report let me know and I'd be happy to pass it along.
This week we will be joined by Melanie Phelps the chair of the District Grants Committee.
