Rotary Club of Colorado Springs Bulletin August 31 (Aug 31, 2023)

The butterflies have landed! Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers for helping with the installation of the butterflies on the northwest lawn of the Pioneers Museum. I hope you all consider stopping by for the Grand Flight Reveal on Friday, Sept. 1st from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

Please note we do not have a meeting on Friday. We will see you back at the DoubleTree on Friday, September 8th when we will hear from Wyoming Rotarian Brian Deurloo to learn about Frog Creek Partners and receive an update on the impact of the gutter bins our club sponsored. We will also be joined by Rotary International Annual Giving Officer, Geoff Cochran who will share an update about Foundation giving.

On Monday we held the 4th annual Craig and Kyle Whitney Memorial Golf Tournament which generated a $5,000 donation to the Salvation Army with the remaining funds donated to our Community Service Fund to support the Rotary Reading Project and other service opportunities. This event would not be possible without club support, our sponsors, the committee, and tournament volunteers. We were honored to sponsor kids from First Tee and the UCCS Golf Management Program again. I'd like to express a special thanks to Penny Whitney and her grandson Turner for their continued participation and passion for this event. We look forward to continuing to honor Craig and Kyle next year. If you would like to help in the planning and organization of this event please reach out to Randy Stiles or me.

Flight Season of Wings Gala and Auction: Saturday, Sept. 23rd at the Hilton DoubleTree. Doors open at 4:00 PM - Purchase your tickets or sign up to be a sponsor HERE. Raffle Tickets are $10/ticket. Please ensure your ticket stubs are returned for the Raffle Drawing before September 23rd. Extra Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at each meeting and at the Reveal.
September Rotary Social: Trainwreck (812 S Sierra Madre Street) Tuesday, Sept. 26th from 5:00-7:00 PM. Invite your friends or coworkers to join us for Food, Drinks and Games (Cornhole, Bocce Ball, Putting Green, Volleyball and other yard games as well as indoor fun with Pool Tables and Virtual Golf).
