Greg Raymond
Regional Vice President
Children’s Hospital Colorado—Colorado Springs

Greg Raymond joined Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) in 2001 and was promoted to his current role in July 2013. He is currently overseeing the planning and development of the new Children’s Hospital Colorado—Colorado Springs, expected to be completed in 2018. Greg is also responsible for all of the organization’s work in southern Colorado including Children’s Colorado Outpatient Specialty and Urgent Care at Briargate, Children’s Colorado Therapy Care at Printers Park, Children’s Colorado Therapy Care in Pueblo, and Children’s Hospital Colorado team members providing pediatric expertise at Memorial Hospital Central. Previously, he helped oversee the planning and preparation for Children Colorado’s move to the Anschutz Medical Campus and later provided leadership to launch and grow a variety of clinical, surgical and programmatic areas.

Greg is active in the Colorado Springs community by representing Children's Colorado—Colorado Springs on the Board of Governors for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corp. He was also elected and serves on the Community Health Partnership board. He is a member of the Emily Keyes Fund Advisory Board, which is responsible for the allocation of state funds to promote donor awareness and donor designation for the transplantation of organs and tissue in Colorado. He also provides leadership in youth scouting and various youth sports around the community.

Greg was raised in Utah, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. He received his master’s in health care administration from University of Minnesota. He and his wife Colette live in Colorado Springs, where they are raising their four children who attend D-20 schools.

Jenny Stafford, Philanthropy Director, Colorado Springs
Jenny Stafford joined Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation as the Foundation’s first Colorado Springs-based employee in 2013. There, she oversees the fundraising for the Foundation in Southern Colorado. Most recently, Jenny was on the staff of the Pikes Peak Community College Foundation and ran her own consulting practice.

She also previously served as Development Director at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Jenny was born and raised in Maryland where she attended the University of Maryland. She received her masters from the University of Colorado and has lived in Colorado Springs since 2001. Jenny is married to Mark Stafford and they have two children.
Annie in Venice
Our current outbounder on exchange in Germany is enjoying a European tour.  Annie Nikolaus is seen in this picture in a Venetian gondola -- she's second from left.  During this tour, Annie diverted briefly to Slovakia and was able to meet Romi Bogarova, our inbounder coming in August.  Great opportunity as Annie will be Romi's host family sister in the not to0 distant future.

Rotary Social -- June 8th
Prime is hosting another social -- Thursday, June 8th, 5:30 p.m., at The Smiling Toad Brewery (owned by Rotarian Biff Morehead).  Proceeds will benefit another Prime service project with Midland Elementary School.  Biff will have the food trucks on site.
Temporary Lodging Request
Please take a look at the request I received from Past-President Dick Harwood.  Thanks,  Dennis.

I met with a delightful young woman on Saturday named Veronika Repkova. Veronika is from the Czech Republic, a January (2017) graduate from a university there (and will be retuning for a Master’s degree there in the fall), and is working for her third summer as a salesperson for the Southwestern Company based in Nashville, TN. The Southwestern Co. sells educational materials geared for pre-school through high school. They sell door-to-door and utilize only college students from the U.S. and around the world as salespeople. I can vouch for their legitimacy because I sold for the Southwestern Co. for two summers while I was in college many years ago.

Veronika is leading a team of several other Czech students who will be selling this summer in Colorado Springs. She contacted me as an “alumnus” of Southwestern and asked me if I knew of anyone who might have a room or rooms available for one or more of the students for the summer. I'd put up a couple of them but I’ll be gone for extended periods of time this summer and wouldn’t feel comfortable having anyone stay in my house while I’m traveling.

The students don’t need “hosting” the way a foreign exchange student does. They are very independent and work six days a week from about 7:00 am until 8:00 or 9:00 at night. All of them obviously speak very good English, are mature and responsible, and have been well-vetted by the Southwestern Co. A couple of them might have rental cars but most ride bicycles or take buses and walk.

If you know of anyone who might be willing to house one or two of these students for the summer – or if you would be willing to talk with Veronika and give her any suggestions you might have – I would really appreciate it and will pass that information on to her.

Thanks,

Dick Harwood
