Criteria for “Outstanding Rotary Club of the Year”
 
This is the highest awards given by Rotary District 5470
to recognize truly vibrant clubs.
 
Each Rotary year, one club with 51 or more members will receive
 The D.D. Monroe Award
 
Purpose:  To honor the Rotary Clubs that have best utilized the district participation in accomplishing the Objects of Rotary during this Rotary Year.
 
Judges:  A committee of the District Governor, District Governor Elect, and District Governor Nominee and District Governor Elect Nominee Designate.
 
Caution:  The judging is based entirely on the answers in this questionnaire and your Rotary Club Central page, so be sure answers are complete and accurate.  Answers should be brief and to the point with enough information in order for the committee to accurately evaluate your Club’s application.
 
Timeline:  Your application must be submitted to the District Governor by 5 pm August 31, 2020. The questionnaire must be signed, scanned and entered via email, with all pages included in one PDF document with the club name included in the file name.
The Award will be presented at the annual District Conference.
 
History:  D.D. Monroe, a native of Indiana, joined the Clayton, New Mexico Rotary Club in 1927.  He was elected District Governor of old District 113 in 1940.  The District included all of Colorado, a bit of New Mexico, the SW corner of Nebraska and eastern Wyoming.  At the 1947 San Francisco International Convention, D. D. Monroe was elected to the Board of Directors by Rotary International.
