On February 11, 2021 The Colorado Springs Gazette eEdition posted this photo of Fannie Mae Duncan.  She is holding the plaque presented to her at the dedication of the home she donated to BethHaven in 1995.  The property at 615 N. Corona Street was also a "hands on" Rotary project when Bob Elliott inspired a group of Rotarians to help in the renovation.  Our Rotary Service Fund made many contributions to this effort.

Later that year, this project was named the "Outstanding Hands On Project" in District 5470.  As a follow-up to the Beth Haven project, Fannie Mae Duncan was inducted as an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs until her death in 2005 at the age of 87.

This photograph comes from the Pikes Peak Library District’s African Americans in Colorado Springs collection, and the photographer is unknown. (We checked with Lynn Boutte and it is not his photo.)
