Chip Ecks, District Governor
"District 5470"

Chip is a member of the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club.  In his "Notes from the Governor," he writes...

I began my travels around our great District on August 31st.  My travels began in Salida and have since brought me to the Vail Valley, the San Luis Valley, Gunnison, Florence, Bayfield, Westcliffe, Limon and Pueblo.  I can honestly say that all my club visits have been eye-opening, and extremely rewarding.  The Rotary Clubs in our District are doing so much for their communities, and still they say they could be doing more.  Of course, we can always do more, but I want us all to stop and look at just how much all of us have done for all our communities in Southern  Colorado.  It is utterly amazing, particularly when you look at what we continue to do to support the education of our youth.  From Dictionaries for third graders, to scholarships for college and career technical schools, to improve literacy,  to supporting RYLA, Interact and RYE.

Your work is so  important to the wellbeing of our youth and the fabric of our communities.  It is all that you do that makes me so proud and humbled to be your District Governor and number one cheerleader.  My tour so far has proven to me that COVID has not stopped the Good Work being done by Rotarians but has opened new opportunities for all of us to explore.  Please Keep Exploring and opening new opportunities for yourself and the communities you love so dearly .

I'm looking forward to my visit to the downtown Club, known by Rodney Gullatte as "The Best Club" in the region!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Governor, Rotary District 5470
