Join us in service: Food preparation, Serving meals, Cleaning up. The meal at lunch time consists of high-quality, freshly prepared dishes, including meat or fish, fresh vegetables, fruit, and dessert. Menus are planned to emphasize nutritional content and diversity. Food preferences are accommodated, and vegetarian alternatives are available at every meal. Unlike traditional soup kitchen food service, which generally fulfills a woman’s basic nutritional needs, the Women’s Lunch Place, offers a restaurant-style lunch with volunteers serving guests who are seated at tables in the dining room. There are fresh flowers on each table and china plates and flatware. Lunch is more than a meal at the Women’s Lunch Place. It is an important part of renewing a guest’s self esteem and providing her with a sense of dignity and normalcy.

Requirements: A heart-felt desire to be of active service to others in our community.  

 

Date: Second Tuesday of each month

Time: Serve for as long as you can between 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
