The North Colorado Springs Rotary Club Foundation and local Boy Scout Troops #287, #62, and Troop #21, invite local residents of Mountain Shadows, Pinon Valley, Mesa Crest, Pine Creek and the Old North End, to join the Symbol of Freedom Flag Program which is a service for displaying the American Flag, our symbol of freedom, on 5 days each year, consisting of:

Memorial Day
Flag Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veterans Day

We have conducted this Symbol of Freedom Flag Program for 15 years and have raised over $160,000 over that period of time.  Our customers make a tax deductible donation of $45 for one year, or $75 for two years of service.  Typically we raise about $10,000 each year, which is split 50/50 between the Boy Scout Troops and the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club Foundation (NCSRCF), a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt public charity.

The NCSRCF utilizes the proceeds of this program to support its humanitarian projects that address the issues of education and poverty for those in need locally and internationally.  In addition, NCSRCF supports other local youth-related programs and charitable organizations.  The Foundation has underwritten a two-day Ethics Training Seminar for the freshman class at Doherty High School for the last fifteen years.  To date, we have provided this training to more than 8,000 students.  In recent years we expanded the Ethics Program to two additional high schools, including the Life Skills Center of Colorado Springs, which offers a high school diploma to at-risk and drop-out youth in our community, and to the CIVA Charter High School.  In addition, a modified version of the Ethics Program is offered at Jenkins Middle School and to two elementary schools in District 11.
