There are many ways for you to get involved in the activities of the Club's Foundation. One of the main reasons for keeping the board of directors relatively small was to enable participation by all the members of the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club. Some of the immediate needs are:

The North Colorado Springs Rotary Club Foundation was incorporated on
The mission of the Foundation is to fulfill the object of Rotary in the Greater Colorado Springs area by: providing academic scholarships to deserving students who might otherwise lack the resources to attend college; helping to support and fund community service programs and activities designated to address children's literacy, safety and recreation; supporting local initiatives focused on community health, habitat, and humanity; and directing resources toward improving the quality of life of the local community and its citizens.
It is not the intent of this foundation to supplant our club's outstanding support of the Rotary Foundation. The worldwide work of the RI Foundation is well known and worthy of your continuing support.
Scholarship Committee
The first scholarship awarded by the Foundation, named to honor Ed Wild, was paid out in August 2002. Ed Wild was a longtime member of the club who died in a tragic accident several years ago. He was a champion of the kind of young people that this scholarship was designed to assist. The first recipient is attending the

The Foundation is nonsectarian and nonpolitical and is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
There are nine directors and no more than four (a minority) can be officers or directors of the Club. They serve 2 year terms and have to be members of the Club.
The Board meets quarterly on the second Thursday of each new quarter.

FROM THE PRESIDENT...
While most of us are thinking about the New Year, I'd also like to ask that each member reflect on where he or she stands so far this Rotary year with respect to our individual commitments to service and to our Rotary objectives.
I'm very heartened by the energy-level and the focus of our Club membership. Just as ~all weather is local", so is Rotary's commitment to community service: all community service is, indeed, local. We think first of
I'm also heartened by growth in the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club-in membership numbers, yes. But our growth has been more than that: it's the new North Colorado Springs Rotary Club Foundation; it's the broader focus - reflecting renewed commitment; and it's new energy, new perspectives, more diversified interests, and a renewed shared sense of camaraderie and friendship.
Something else all Rotarians share is a desire to "give back". Probably for most of us, that is the principal reason Rotary is part of our lives. Half of this Rotary year is over; but we have a half-year of opportunities for "giving-back" ahead: so...
