Anchorage International Rotary Club's youth exchange student has been getting a taste of the life in the Mat-Su Valley over the winter break.  Akila Amala is a 17 year-old student from Jakarta, Indonesia who has quickly acclimated to life in the cold climate.  She spent her winter break with Tryg and Kim Erickson in Willow where she has taken lake walks at -14 degrees F, explored wilderness trails via snow machine (as a passenger), New Year's Eve bonfire and fireworks, winter wonderland wedding, board games, cooking, and made lots of new friends (including several furry ones).
