Rotary District 5010 is actively seeking open-minded, flexible students who demonstrate leadership qualities and have high moral standards that will enable them to become excellent cultural ambassadors for their country and the Rotary club and district that supports them. District 5010 Rotary Youth Exchange provides students ages 15 to 17 with an opportunity to travel to a foreign country and experience the culture while serving as an ambassador for their home country. Youth Exchange is a live-in experience not a travel vacation.

For over 75 years, students and host families have broadened their horizons through Rotary Youth Exchange. More than 80 countries and over 8,000 students each year participate in the program, which is administered at the regional level by Rotary districts and at the local level by Rotary clubs.

Dr. Stannard is a Psychologist and Director of Clinical Services at Ptarmigan Connections.

"My great passion is connecting children and families to healing resources. When a child is not developing as expected, it is common to feel overwhelmed. I help by providing early identification of developmental and behavioral disorders, educating parents and professionals about treatment strategies, and collaborating with a child’s wellness team for ongoing care.

My educational background includes a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Rochester, as well as a master of science degree in counseling psychology and a doctor of psychology degree from Alaska Pacific University. Additionally, I have a certificate in Primary Care Behavioral Health from the University of Massachusetts and a postdoctoral certificate in neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate University. I am a licensed psychologist, chemical dependency clinical supervisor, and supervisor for licensed professional counselors in the state of Alaska."

Mat-Su Regional CEO Dave Wallace will speak at Susitna Rotary this week to discuss a Certificate of Need (CON) the hospital just submitted to the State of Alaska.

Mat-Su Regional received overwhelming community support when they applied for a CON last summer to add the 36-bed behavioral health and detox treatment facility on campus. This is a second CON and is needed to add treatment rooms to our emergency department in order to support the behavioral health facility as well as the growth in our community.
