Batavia Rotary Club learns from SLAPSHOP participants

SLAPSHOT celebrates youth leadership and Interact programs in our high schools. This year, Scott McAllister and Marc White were selected to participate in this prestigious program. Scott is the son of Gregg & Deb McAllister and attends Batavia High School. Scott is an active leader in his school and community. Marc attends Byron-Bergen Central School and is the son of Dale and Diane White. Scott was impressed with the keynote speaker, Joel Hilchey, and his emphasis on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. He also expressed his interest in learning about similarities and differences among Canadian youth. Marc learned a lot about communication skills and working together as a group by participating in rope course activities. Batavia Rotary Club covers the cost of the program and arranges for transportation. SLAPSHOT is an ideal opportunity for area youth from western New York and southern Ontario to join together for fun, educational opportunities."
