Program:
The Christmas Auction
The Board has discussed making the Christmas Auction a smaller social event with a gift exchange so we can focus on the Angel Tree.
Members of the board will be outreaching to the school and various community sites to develop a list of families in need.
We would set aside some of the money raised from the Virtual Raffle to supplement our normal Christmas intake. Stay tuned for more info!
District Governor Frank Adamson's Visit
Frank visited our club today to talk about his goals as District Governor and various initiatives our club can take on. Here were some of his main points:
Pedal for Polio: Pedal for Polio is next Saturday, October 24th. There will be riders on both the Canadian and American sides of the Niagara River. Leah B will also be riding in this event.
Lend a Book Library: this would help promote literacy. There will be 5 lending libraries auctioned off at the District Conference.
Earth Day Waterside Cleanup: the waterside cleanup would be held the Saturday after Earth Day in April. The cleanup effort now spans 11 zones.
Blood Donation: one of Frank's goals is to raise awareness for blood donation. Thank you Christina for being ahead of the curve on this and organizing the August blood drive!
Every Rotarian, every year: we have been a sustaining member club as this initiative is included in our dues.
Increased membership: Frank has set a goal for each club to have 4 new members this year.
Social Media and Public Image: the District set aside $20,000 to assist clubs with improving their websites and social media presence.
Lighthouse Goals/Rotary Citation: we will be working this year to receive both the Rotary Citation and the District Lighthouse Award. We are well primed to achieve this goal as a club!
Thank you to Frank and Aaron for today's club visit. Hopefully we can meet in person someday soon!
