Rotary Club of Waterdown
About Our Club
Founded in 1955, The Rotary Club of Waterdown is 40-plus
members strong, made up of local business owners and
professionals who all have a common interest: "Service Above Self."
The Waterdown Club has been very active in the Flamborough area
since its inception. One of the club's major projects is Rotary
Garden Court situated on John Street within the village. Built in
1972 as a small apartment unit for senior citizens, Rotary Garden
Court is maintained by dedicated club members who look after
repairs and maintenance, and ensure affordable housing is
available to seniors in this community.
Rotary Garden Court is also the gathering place for the club's
weekly Monday evening meetings. Within the recreation room,
members gather for fellowship, updates on the club's activities and
to enjoy various guest speakers.
The club hosts various community events and programs, including a paper shredding fundraiser, an annual Trivia Night, the Flamborough Open Golf Classic (in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce) and, with the Flamborough AM Rotary Club, Waterdown's Oh Canada Ribfest. All funds from these events go to support the club's various community, youth and international projects.
