President Amber Kosubovich opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgement and POD members assisted with the 4-Way Test, invocation and table order duties.

President Amber thanked Lori Grundy of Jitterbug Cafe for catering and the POD members for organizing the meeting.
President Amber reminded club members that the Ribfest volunteer portal is now open and urged everyone who can to sign up for a shift (or two!).
Youth Services chair Darryl Kirkland made several announcements:
A funding request was made to cover police check costs for volunteer drivers for next year's exchange student.
Our club donated $500 to purchase a replacement football helmet for the WDHS Warriors; in return, we received a decommissioned helmet.
Youth services got board approval for $600 to purchase snacks to hand out during exams at WDHS - volunteers will be needed for the 3 days, from 8 to 8:30 a.m.
The Flamborough Fun Run in support of Food4Kids raised $5,700.
Pere, a 15-year-old WDHS student from Nigeria attended RYLA, and was very thankful for the experience.
Nick Brown provided an update on the May 29 golf tournament - half of the foursomes are sold - still seeking hole sponsors, live auction items. This year, we are using The Silent Auction Company to run the silent auction. It will be live starting the week before the event.
This week in RCW history: May 9, 1960 - The club voted to sponsor a Bicycle Rodeo at the Victoria Day Festivities; members also approved paying the cost of an ambulance charge for an injured Carlisle child.

Wilf Arndt introduced this week's speaker, Neil Stephenson of the Waterdown Lions Club. Neil updated members on their current plan to raise $20,000 for playground equipment and upgrades for local parks; the plan is to be matched with $20,000 from City of Hamilton funding, as the cost to do each park is $40,000.
Neil also expressed interest in more collaboration between local service organizations, and noted an interclub meeting is being planned for the fall. He also invited Rotarians to take part in the Walk for Dog Guides, which takes place May 26. Gerry Aggus thanked Neil for his presentation.
