President Amber Kosubovich opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgement and POD members assisted with the 4-Way Test, invocation and table order duties.

President Amber thanked the POD for organizing the meeting, and members for wearing their Rotary shirts for tonight's photo.
Fundraising committee chair Margot Rae asked for a club vote to approve the addition of a new event, The Festival of Trees, which will take place Dec. 7. Sue Collins seconded, unanimous approval.
Golf tournament organizer Rick Ludwig announced that 125 golfers signed up for the event; also reminded members that they can participate by promoting it, volunteering or donating silent auction items/gift cards.
Ribfest co-chair Nick Brown reminded club members to sign up for volunteer shifts as well as shift captain spots. To date, 205 people have signed up to volunteer, which means 37% of the positions have been filled. Volunteers are also needed for the June 15 grocery bagging day at Fortinos (2 shifts).
Karen Matthews made several announcements on behalf of Ribfest and Community Service:
A Google My Business page has been created for Ribfest - please add a review and a photo to help promote the event.
Planning is underway for Ribfest promo videos...we need a volunteer to be Bucky, as well as on-camera interviews.
Our club is committed to a shift at the Flamborough Food Bank the last Wednesday of each month - please email Karen if you can help
Our club needs a rep to attend Parent Council Meetings at WDHS - this month's meeting is May 28. Email Karen if you'd like to attend future meetings.
There is a cleanup (inside and out, depending on numbers) at Rotary Garden Court on Saturday...everyone welcome to help out!

Program
Garry Flood introduced Josh Austin, director of philanthropy for the YMCA of Hamilton-Burlington-Brantford. Josh was joined by Stephanie Brown of the North Burlington Rotary Club for a presentation about the current fundraising campaign, Y Saves Lives.
The club heard about the Y's focus on anti-human trafficking initiatives, as well as various programs that support seniors and youth in the community and its employees. Peter Ronalds thanked Josh and Stephanie for their presentation.
