ITEMS OF INTEREST
President Amber Kosubovich opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgement and Sue Collins led us in the 4-way test. Michelle Lefebvre gave the invocation.
President Amber thanked the POD members for organizing this week's meal, as we change over following Irene's retirement.
Youth Services chair Darryl Kirkland asked members to save the date for a community pancake breakfast to raise money for Food 4 Kids on Family Day (Feb. 19). Details to follow.
On behalf of the membership committee, Karen Matthews reminded club members about the Yogashala chill & relax event at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19. Cost is $10 each.
Fundraising committee chair Margot Rae reminded members about the Feb. 10 Trivia Night; teams, volunteers and auction items are needed. Teams register with Nick, anyone with auction items can reach out to Wendy Hickey.
Jeff Kleven asked everyone to take copies of the Neighbourhood Rotarian to distribute at venues around town.
New member George Tadross (classification: accounting) was inducted to the club. Welcome George!
December notes -
20 members attended an informal club meeting on Dec. 4, which was the last meal served by Irene Carr (who has retired, but still active with the club).
Youth Service Chair Darryl Kirkland announced $1000 for two short term exchanges (approved by club) and the next Interact club fundraiser in the spring.
Gerry Aggus presented a motion to bring the club's articles of amendment and bylaws into line with provincial legislation - carried unanimously.
Following the meeting, members worked on Operation Christmas Cheer, and wrote 500 card to be distributed at local seniors.
Irene and community service committee members provided a meal for Rotary Garden Court residents on Dec. 14.
40 Rotarians, spouses and guests enjoyed Christmas dinner at the Royal Coachman on Dec. 18.
