President Amber Kosubovich opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgement and Paul Durnan led the 4-way test. Brenda Jefferies gave the invocation and Rick Ludwig welcomed our guests and gave the table order.
President Amber thanked the POD members for organizing this week's meal, and thanked Lori Grundy of the Jitterbug for catering.
President Amber made 3 announcements:
The Hot Cocoa for the Soul skating event went very well and thanked all who organized it and volunteered.
The club received a thank you email from the principal at Waterdown District High School for providing snacks during the exam period.
The club received a thank you card (circulated) from the Waterdown Museum of Hope for facilitating the donation of the cases for the Legion.
Youth Service Chair Darryl Kirkland reminded club members about the Family Day Pancake Breakfast and asked people to put up posters around town. Volunteers needed for set-up on Feb. 18.
Grants committee chair Jeff Kleven required club approval for $2,000 (USD) from next year's budget to help fund a security system at Dos Corrientes. The plan is to request funds from area clubs and apply for a District matching grant; the total cost of the project is $11,000 (USD). Karen seconded; approved by the membership.
Fundraising committee chair Margot Rae reminded members to donate to the Trivia Night wine raffle and silent auction. To date, 18 teams have registered - there's room for a lot more!
Rick Ludwig sponsored two teams for Trivia night, but has room for players.

Nick Brown enjoyed a 6-day cruise with his mom and two brothers; also, a client dropped off a copy of the Centennial edition of the Flamborough Review which featured a large Rotary club ad.
Amber just returned from a trip to Florida with her family.
Kim Piper's son Justin just got his driver's licence.
Jeff celebrated his friend Dr. Miles Sergeant receiving the Order of Hamilton.
Wilf Arndt excited to have 2 curling times in the Skyway Classic Feb. 6.
50/50 draw - Birthday boy Bruce Treacy won the draw - and the pot!! With 12 cards to go, he picked the Queen of spades and won $785.50. Congrats, Bruce!
