President Brenda opened the meeting with the land acknowledgement and POD members assisted with opening exercises.

Our speaker was Dave Loewith from Summit Station Dairy. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph Agricultural Science program and has received numerous awards for his farming and research. 39 members of his family came to Canada in 1938 from Western Czechoslovakia. In 1947 they purchased their current farm on Powerline Road. The current 1000 head of dairy cattle are descendants of the original 15. They have a long-standing relationship with the University of Guelph and the Ontario Veterinarian College. Dave spoke about the Mission of the farm and expressed gratitude for the opportunity that Canada gave to his family. They offer a scholarship program to their employees and have very little turnover. They have been in the top ten Dairy Farms in Canada for the last 7 years.
