President Brenda opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgment. POD members assisted with the singing of "O Canada", the 4 Way Test, invocation and table order.
After dinner, Rotarian Jeff Kleven introduced Bob Morrow who is a founding member of the Dundas Valley Sunrise club and has had 33 years of perfect attendance. For the last 3 years he was chair of the District Strategic Planning committee and now works with individual clubs on their strategic plans. Clubs with a strategic plan are more vibrant and members have a more positive view. His presentation indicated that the process is member oriented with a focus on implementing goals for the next 3 years. It involves using Survey Monkey and will end with a document that is simple and easy to follow. Jeff thanked Bob for his presentation.
Items of Interest
President Brenda presented her kudos to Lori from Jitterbug for the meal, Norm for his treasurer duties and for fixing our US account issues with RBC, Jeff Kleven and his Paul Harris night team for their planning and for all that are participating in the bake sale for polio tonight.
She also announced that Dundas Rotary is having a socks and skivvy's drive and we will have a box for donations in November to support this. New items can be brought in.
Paul Harris Night is now going to be Tuesday November 19th at West Avenue Cider. The cost is $20 per person and must be paid in advance.
Diandra asked for helpers for Saturday, October 26 at the BIA Pet & Treat Walk to hand out candy. Costumes are optional!
Community Service is also still looking for a volunteer to attend the Parent Council meetings at WDHS monthly or rotating with another person.
Karen announced that there will be volunteers needed for the Food4Kids breakfast on Nov. 30th.
Margot announced that there would be a fundraising committee meeting after the club meeting.
