BOARD REPORT
The RCW board met on Monday, July 21, led by President Kevin Smoke, Secretary Kim Piper and Treasurer Norm Read. Highlights from the meeting:
- President Kevin asked each committee chair to submit their goals for the 2025-2026 Rotary year.
- Treasurer Norm provided a financial update; the club service budget has been finalized but we waiting for some final numbers from the Flamborough Open to prepare the Charitable Trust budget for the year.
- Community Service Report: Karen and Diandra met with the Flamborough Women's Resource Centre and the Flamborough Food Bank to explore ideas for the coming year. The committee is also looking for volunteers for three events in August: the Seniors Corn Road, A Run For Chris and the Bike Rodeo. Motion for $497.89 in funding for signage at the Terry Fox Run in September APPROVED.
- Youth Service Chair Darry Kirkland suggested that the monthly allowance for exchange students be increased to $150 per month from the current $120 per month. Youth Service also has the cutting boards from the WDHS shop program ready - 11 to be distributed to RGC resident, the rest to be sold.
- Public Image Committee - Meeting planned for Wednesday, Aug. 13 Looking for new members, fresh ideas! Contact Brenda or Amber for more info.
- Fundraising Committee is exploring ideas for Winterfest with BIA. Attendance and donation numbers from Ribfest looking good - final tally won't be ready till the fall.
- Membership Chair position is still open - please let Kevin know if you're interested in joining the board!
