Items of Interest
  1. Jeff Partridge reminded club members of the Bike Rodeo coming up on June 6th. He is still looking for about 3 volunteers.
  2. Sue Collins provided an update from Sophie Blain, exchange student in Denmark; she went to Youth Island, an aquarium and a hike to a lighthouse. She also experienced Danish Easter celebrations, a wedding and Name Day. Sophie is looking forward to an upcoming European tour and will return home to Waterdown on July 1.
  3. Giogio told the club how much she enjoyed going to Prom and felt like she was in a movie. She was able to visit New York City and thanked Wendy Hickey and Karen Matthews for assistance with rides to and from the carpool location. Giogio enjoyed the top of the Empire State Building, seeing the Statue of Liberty, but said there were too many people in Times Square.
  4. Jeff Kleven gave an update on RibFest which is fast approaching! They have secured over $90,000 in sponsorships and encourage everyone to sign up to volunteer.
  5. Rick Ludwig reminded the club of the upcoming Flamborough Open Golf Tournament on May 27/26. They are still looking for more golfers, sponsors and live auction items.
Giogio enjoyed a nice dinner out with Nick and Marianne Brown on her last evening with them before moving to her new host home. Nick Brown photo.
