President Amber Kosubovich opened the meeting with the Land Acknowledgement and POD members assisted with the 4-Way Test, invocation and table order duties.
Laura Neher welcomed out guests.
President Amber thanked those who helped out at the Area 3 Great Lakes Cleanup on April 19: Margot, Pete and and Kathryn Ronalds, Brenda, Karen, Amber and daughter Natalya helped pick up 40 bags of garbage in the Cootes Drive area with the Dundas and Flamborough AM Rotarians.
Youth Services chair Darryl Kirkland made several announcements:
Shane Cashin has been selected to attend Adventures in Citizenship in Ottawa this year.
The deadline to apply for Jr. RYLA was April 24.
The WDHS Interact Club raised $700 for the Universal Light project.
The Flamborough Fun Run in support of Food4Kids is May 5.
Garry Flood announced that the Community Service committee the board approved 8 bursaries for WDHS this year, including for trade/apprenticeship students and made a motion for club approval. Seconded by Norm Read, approved by club.
Foundation committee chair Jeff Kleven announced that the District grant for the Dos Corrientes security project has been conditionally approved.
The planned speaker from Telling Tales couldn't attend due to illness; she will reschedule for a meeting later in the year.
This week in RCW history: April 19, 2004 - The club announced that exchange student Florise Barrachin would be arriving in Waterdown in August.

In lieu of a speaker this week, the club had two very special presentations: Sue Collins presented Irene Carr with a Paul Harris fellowship (her third!). She also shared heartfelt messages from club members that highlighted Irene's cheerful character and her generous heart. Congratulations, Irene!
The club also inducted new member Jeff Partridge, who has many years of service club experience and deep connections in the community, having belonged to the Carlisle Optimist Club. Welcome, Jeff!

Nick Brown celebrated a birthday in the Caymen Islands; he also celebrated the end of swimming season (and provincial titles, along with Jeff Kleven). He was also happy to see 100-year-old Callus Rasmussen set 3 records at the Masters meet.
Karen Matthews celebrated her son's 23rd birthday.
Irene was honoured to receive a Paul Harris award; celebrating a birthday.
Guest Holly Jane had a wiggly tooth.
