World Polio Day 2018: Rotary Club of Waterdown joins Rotarians around the world in fighting for polio eradication Oct. 22-26.
To mark World Polio Day next week, the Rotary Club of Waterdown is honoured to welcome Mona Boyes to speak at the Oct. 22 dinner meeting at Rotary Garden Court. Ms. Boyes is a polio survivor who is now living with post-polio syndrome.

In addition, the Waterdown District High School Interact Club will be selling popcorn on Oct. 24 (World Polio Day) and Oct. 25 to support Rotary International's polio eradication efforts.

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for over 30 years, and the goal of ridding the earth of this disease is in sight. We started in 1979 with vaccinations for 6 million children in the Philippines. Today, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan are the only countries where polio remains endemic.
