Growing Grass Roots

The Rotary Club of Branchburg participates in community engagement by organizing local projects such as scholarships for high school students, mentorship programs, and the Annual Bingo Night focused on women's health. Additionally, the club conducts food collection drives for the Somerset Food Bank and supports homeless veterans through regular meal preparation events.

Annual Scholarship Program
Branchburg Foundation provides over $15,000 in scholarships each year to local students:
  • Ray Bateman Memorial Scholarship  $2,500 to a student from Somerville who will be attending RVCC College. 
  • $1,500 “John Pastre” scholarship to Somerville High School graduate presented in honor of John Pastore, a former Rotarian and a former superintendent in Branchburg, who tirelessly gave his time and efforts to the community. 
  • Two $1,500 scholarships to Somerville High School graduates
  • Two $1,500 scholarships to Immaculata High School graduates
  • Two $1,500 scholarship to Rotaract Student attending RVCC
  • Two $1,500 scholarships to Somerset County VoTech school graduates
  • Six $150 service awards to Juniors attending our local high schools

Downtown Beautification
The Downtown Beautification Committee will provide plans and experienced leaders for the project. We will utilize everything from seeds, paint, and good old fashioned elbow grease to develop and maintain sites the community will love again.

The Downtown Beautification Committee is implemented in partnership with the Public Works Department. Members of the Downtown Beautification Committee include Waylon Smith, Lenny Karl, Barney Flint, Wilma Rubble and Ginny Wooster.

Global Outreach

We support international initiatives by funding global projects that provide essential resources and improve living conditions in various communities. The club also participates in humanitarian missions and collaborates with international partners to promote the advancement of the seven areas of focus.
