Rotary Trivia

After a knock on his residence door by a local plumber asking to look at a brand new service van in the driveway, who happened to be a long time Rotarian, Charlie was invited to a Rotary meeting and was immediately hooked. That was 1995 and in 1999 he was elected President of the Rotary Club of Union NJ. Serving in many capacities as a club member and supporting the District, Charlie was appointed to chair the District 7510 Eat, Drink and Share event to benefit the Rotary Foundation in 2001.
Charlie is proud of his support of youth in the district having sponsored a Youth Exchange student in his home and especially his “Homes of Hope” child Roy.
Charlie is the President of Minton’s Fire & Security Specialists, Inc., a full service Burglar Alarm and Fire Protection company. In 1988, he incorporated his business and became a certified Fire Official with the State of New Jersey. Charlie holds an “All Fire Equipment Contractor” license and is also a Certified Fire Official/Inspector.
Our DG is Past President of the Union Township New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, (2003-2005), he served in many capacities from Event Chair to Vice President of Finance.
Charlie has been a Speech and Debate Judge for the New Jersey Forensics League. Considered comparable to a High School Varsity sport, he was selected to judge final competitions for state championships and specializes in Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, and Congress debates.
Charlie and Kathy married in 1987 and have two daughters, Stacey and Melissa. Stacey was a Rotoractor and Club Secretary of the Rotary Club of Washington DC and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Melissa is also a Paul Harris Fellow. Both girls have attended several District Conferences and both girls were members of the EarlyAct Club of Livingston School Union NJ where Stacey was the Charter President.
Kathy is also a Paul Harris Fellow, and Charlie is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Paul Harris Society, and a level two Bequest Society Member as well as a Rotary Benefactor.
Hobby sometimes turns into passion and then obsession. Charlie’s hobby is cooking and fine dining having traveled the world in search of the best meals and Rotary meetings.
