BRANCHBURG CHRISTMAS PARTY
Wednesday night the 14th - many of us gathered with our families to celebrate the holiday - and just being US. We had a really lovely night -
*Thanks to Kip for the first round of beverages.
*Maria D thanked Maria A for getting Abbvie to take on the Branchburg Rotary as their Christmas sponsor for this year. We were the recipients of many gently used coats for kids, a "ton" of new toys that will be delivered to the Branchburg Board of Ed working with the families in town with need.
*The biggest surprise of the night was that there was $4,000 donated by the generous employees of Abbvie - that will be matched in February - for a grand total of $8,000. This Christmas Miracle will allow us to give Maria A money for her mission trip to Colombia in January to paint the new additions to a local school that did not have bathrooms for the children. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!
*A BIG THANK YOU to those of you who donated gift cards for the PTO collection - they will be placed in little stockings and delivered for delivery by Santa.
BOARD MEETING Last week - decision was made to hold the Spaghetti Dinner at Il Forno. The $25 per person at Stony Book without beverages is just too much. So, we all decided to try something new and see how it goes. Michael F to get the registration up on the website. Poster design between Diane and Maria A is completed. Great job team!! The article got submitted to the Branchburg News for January publication. We are rolling.
It will be held on February 5th from 2-8. WE ARE THE STAFF AND THE LABOR FOR THIS ONE - PLEASE DO NOT PLAN ANOTHER EVENT FOR THIS DAY - EVERY PERSON IS GOING TO BE VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS EVENT. More to follow.
Holiday Happiness - for those of you who stood in the cold and the rain and the yuck and thanked and put on a brave face for us all - we thank you!
There was great success at ShopRite the team there collected $1,300. We are short of our goal of $3,000. Next Friday and Saturday if anyone can give a few hours at Tex's we may be able to make it.
FOOD PANTRY - another MONSTER day according to Billy.
117 Families and just about 450 people served this Sunday before Christmas. Thank you to the Rotarians who show up and work with the Church Volunteers!!
