Join fellow Rotarians on a trip to Nepal, one of the most beautiful countries of the world on a HUMANITARIAN MISSION. Join various clubs from around the world on a journey starting in Kathmandu, the heart of Nepal, nestled within the Himalayas.

The Rotary Club of New York “Queens” (RCNYQ), Rotary Club of Branchburg, NJ and the Rotary Club of Southampton(RCS) have teamed up with fellow Rotarians from Nepal on their first humanitarian and cultural trip. The Rotary Club of Maharajganj-Kathmandu (RCMK), a sister Rotary Club will play the leading role in the coordination of activities, including necessary logistics on the ground.

The team arrives in Kathmandu during the Tihar/Deepawali celebration-the festival of lights, one of the most colorful Hindu festivals of Nepal.
With seven world heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley, it is no wonder why Kathmandu ranks as one of the most historical cities in the world. We will be visiting many of the ancient sites in Kathmandu valley.
Rotarian Adventure & Humanitarian Mission to Nepal will include:
@Visits of historical and cultural sites in the Kathmandu valley, Pokhara, Lumbini of Nepal. Lumbini is the birthplace of the Buddha. The team will also be visiting many other sites during the mission period.

@Visit of Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. This is also a world heritage site which lies in the southern scenic flatlands of Nepal and plant trees.

@Tentatively, the humanitarian projects will be carried out in the western-southern district of Arghakhachi or in the neighboring areas and eastern-northern district of Sindhupalchok. Latter is one of the hardest hit districts by the devastating earthquake in 2015. The projects will include educational and medical camps. Color for Kids and The Asha Project will also be part of the mission to support educational/schools projects.

@Visit some of the Asha Project sites and distribute school supplies as well plant trees.
There will be chartered ground transportation to all sites and as indicated above all activities will be coordinated by our local host Club-RCMK.
The over all cost of the trip, excluding air tickets, is estimated to be $1,075.00/person (approx.). A detail program plan and schedules are being worked out in consultation with the partner Club Kathmandu.
We hope to make this mission as one of the most productive humanitarian work as well as adventurous, educational and entertaining.
