Making People Laugh

I have been fascinated by the world of comedy all of my life.  I like to pull out a couple of jokes once in a while, and I can still maintain good grades.  I have always wanted to be on a TV show, and I might also want to be on a comedy show.  Shows such as “Saturday Night Live” have influenced me to pursue the world of comedy.  The group of jobs that I decided would fit me from the surveys we took is A/V Technology and Communications.  Discovering this also help me choose “comedian” as a career.  One day I would like to make people laugh.

I believe my personality will definitely make me a good comedian.  I discovered that I am really good at talking to other people and acting.  I also love comedy.  Some of my other personality traits are that I am fun, enjoyable, and friendly.  These are probably traits that a comedian has.  Skills that I have which will help me become a comedian include creative thinking, which helps me think of funny jokes.  Also being articulate will help because I will need to speak clearly to become a successful comedian.

When I begin my comedian career, I do not expect to hit the “big time” right away.  I have a lot of confidence and passion to become a comedian, but I know it takes time.  I plan to take part in plays and join Performing Arts programs to help me with my speaking and confidence on stage.  Soon I will attend college and start my comedian career.  I will perform in comedy clubs, and hopefully make people laugh, as part of my training to become a successful comedian.

Before I become a comedian, I of course need to have an education.  I read a book all about carrers, “The Encyclopedia of Careers”.  It says that many comedians begin their career after high school!  I decided that I will actually move from high school to a 4-year college and study Communications.  Although you do not need a particular type of education to become a comedian, I think it is important.  When I am done with my education, I will become a comedian.
