Avenues of Service

All Rotary Clubs are structured into Five Avenues of Service.  Our Rotary Club of Branchburg is organized into Divisions to carry out these avenues.

Club Service

We are a volunteer organization which requires everyone's help to make the club operate.  Everyone gets a chance to pitch in at various times throughout the year.  Club Service includes tasks like collecting money at the door, giving the invocation, leading the opening song, greeting arriving members, preparing club bulletins, calendars and the like.

Community Service

Many members focus on Community Service projects.  Community Service can be likened to "rolling up our sleeves" to serve our community.  Our past projects included helping with at the n annual celebration for handicapped children at Camp MaryHeart, helping needy people in the community with our annual fund drive, celebrating Interfaith Thanksgiving dinner, participating in community cares service projects, supporting a Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, participating in various scholarship programs or one of many others projects as community needed.

Vocational Service

As business leaders, Rotarians share their skills and expertise through Vocational Service. Your Vocational Service efforts can play a vital role in improving the quality of life for those hardworking members of the community who need direction and expertise. By participating in any of a number of Vocational Service activities - mentoring, career days, vocational awards, business assistance, or even talking about your job at a club meeting - you can turn your experience into an invaluable resource for others.

International Service

This Avenue of Service is for the advancement of International  understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

 

Through this Avenue, our club gives service on international projects and here are two examples: Since 1992 our club has been providing scholarships to 30 orphan students each year in Nepal with our $500 annual donation.  Small amount of money goes long way in many developing countries.  Our club started four district wide projects - Homes of Hope Project in Ecuador, Nepal Orphan Project, Micro-Credit Project and Digital Divide Project.  Each year we also support many district wide international projects like Brazil, Shelter Box, River Blindness, Pure water and many more.
