Sr. Nicole Trahan, FMI, a native of Orange, Texas, is a member of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianists) and currently serves as the Director of Marianist Initiatives and Special Projects at St. Mary’s University.
With masters degrees in Catholic School Leadership and Pastoral Ministry, both from St. Mary’s, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Gonzaga University, Sr. Nicole has a background in teaching theology/religion on the secondary level, collegiate and secondary campus ministry, retreat design and leadership, and individual spiritual accompaniment. She has a passion for faith formation and leadership development, especially of young people. This passion is equally matched by her passion for justice and equity.
She has contributed to a number of publications, including “American Catholic Studies: Journal of the American Catholic Historical Society”, Catholic Women Preach, and the National Catholic Reporter’s Global Sisters Report and enjoys writing on various topics. Sr. Nicole was recently named to as an advisor to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops subcommittee on African American Affairs.
