Hello Fellow Rotarians!
Our Influencer Speaker Series will kick off on Wednesday Mar 10 with Jay Craig, a fellow Rotarian and the District Governor of District 6110, the largest Rotary District in North America. Jay will speak to us about “Leadership in Difficult Times.” As indicated in my note to all of you earlier in the week, the format will be just like all of our “regular” Wednesday morning hybrid meetings that are conducted in-person and via Zoom. It will NOT be a “webinar” format. Many thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to the Influencer Speaker Series Committee! And, a very special thanks and shout out to Maud and Brian Duggan, and their business, Union Place, for sponsoring breakfast for our guests at the Legion! Thank you so very much, Maud and Brian!!!
Please register for Wednesday’s event, as well as the upcoming Influencer Series events, if you have not already done so. You must register for each event individually. On behalf of our Club, we'd like to have an awesome showing for Jay, and the rest of our speaker line-up. When you register, you will need to follow-through and complete the registration process in order to receive the link to attend each session. Again, this link is different than the link for our "regular" Wednesday morning meetings. The link will also ask you if you are attending in person i.e., attending at the Legion. Please make your designation so that we may comply with Covid restrictions at the Legion. Thanks to all of you in advance for your prompt consideration and registration. I greatly appreciate it. Please reach out to Carol Lee or me regarding any issues pertaining to registration or the format of the Influencer Series' meetings.
Also, as mentioned in my note earlier this week, please also promote the Influencer Series to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. And, most importantly, please take the time to promote the Influencer Series on social media—especially through Facebook. Specifically, show you're "interested," "like it," "share it," and indicate that you’re going, etc.! Please do this!!! This is one of the simple ways that we can gain visibility and increase membership to enable us to do more locally (i.e., student scholarships) and internationally (i.e., Rotary International initiatives)! A week ago, we heard from dynamic speaker, Matt Norman, at our Wednesday meeting. Matt was introduced to us by Jim Wall. Matt is the President and CEO of Norman & Associates, which leverages Dale Carnegie training to develop skills and habits to inspire others with confidence. Matt provided great tips and insights on the Four Patterns of Healthy People which, coincidentally, is the title of his award-winning book—the “Four Patterns of Healthy People.” Check out Matt’s website, http://dalecarnegie.com and, also, his blog, http://mattnorman.com for information on Matt and his book, as well as further resources and information! The Lake Minnetonka Excelsior Rotary Club is holding their annual Rose Sale Fundraiser. Many of us have purchased the beautiful roses in the past. If you wish to participate and order roses, please contact Mary at (952) 686-3565.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not extend a heartfelt thank you to Joy Gorra for warmly hosting the Winter Social at her gorgeous property on Lake Ann this past Sunday!! A great time was had by all!! Thank you Joy (and Todd Gerhardt) for planning and following through with this awesome social event. Might this be the first annual … hmmmmm!
