Hello Fellow Rotarians!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and were able to get out and enjoy the warm weather!

Our Influencer Speaker Series continued last Wednesday with Greg Pavett, the Founder and Executive Director of Humanity Alliance.  We heard how Humanity Alliance rescues and re-purposes food from businesses/organizations and food shelves that is about to be discarded and turns the food into high-quality and healthful meals which are delivered to the doorsteps of families across our community who lack access to meals and nutrition.  Truly “Service Above Self.”  To date, Humanity Alliance has rescued over 24.5 tons of food.  Check out their website:  www.humanityalliance.org and, also, this video:  https://youtu.be/4nq5uD63jzU  What a way to continue the momentum with our the Influencer Series!!!  Thanks to all who attended in-person at the Chanhassen Legion, as well as those who attended via Zoom.  And, once again, a very special thanks and shout out to Maud and Brian Duggan, and their business, Union Place, for sponsoring breakfast for our guests at the Legion!  Thank you so very much, Maud and Brian!!!

On Wednesday, we will hear from fellow Rotarian, Fatima Langlois, and her Foundation, Coup de Coeur (FCC).  Fatima and FCC have leveraged partnerships to provide water and filtration systems to more than 600,000 beneficiaries.  In working with International Rotary Clubs, Fatima and FCC have under undertaken over 100 water projects in Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.  You won’t want to miss this inspiring presentation!!  Please register for Wednesday’s event, as well as the remaining upcoming Influencer Series events, if you have not already done so.  As a reminder, you must register for each event individually—the link from the prior weeks will not work.  On behalf of our Club, we'd like to have an awesome showing for Fatima, a fellow Rotarian, and the rest of our speaker line-up.  When you register, you will need to follow-through and complete the registration process in order to receive the link to attend each session.  Again, this link is different than the link for our "regular" Wednesday morning meetings.  The link will also ask you if you are attending in person, i.e., attending at the Legion.  Please make your designation so that we may comply with COVID restrictions at the Legion.  Thanks to all of you in advance for your prompt consideration and registration.  I greatly appreciate it.  Please reach out to Carol Lee or me regarding any issues pertaining to registration or the format of the Influencer Series' meetings.

Also, as mentioned in my prior communications, please also promote the Influencer Series to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.  And, most importantly, please take the time to promote the Influencer Series on social media—especially through Facebook.  Specifically, show you're "interested," "like it," "share it," and indicate that you’re going, etc.!  Please do this!!!  This is one of the simple ways that we can gain visibility and increase membership to enable us to do more locally (i.e., student scholarships) and internationally (i.e., Rotary International initiatives)!  Please reach out to Maud Duggan for information regarding promoting the Influencer Series on Facebook.

I’m very pleased to announce that Tina Strait and Love INC have been voted in as our newest Club Members.  Love INC was voted in under our guidelines for an Association Membership.  Al Norby, the Executive Director of Love INC, will be the primary representative.  Please extend a very warm welcome to both Tina and Al!!!  Reach out and introduce yourselves to both,  and get to know them on a personal level.  Both are fabulous individuals!!

Tomorrow evening, we will continue with the second strategic planning/visioning session for our Club!  Thanks to Tom Furlong and Jim Wall for taking the laboring oar with me to tackle this important undertaking for our Club.  Jim Wall will be facilitating this discussion.  What comes out of this process will shape the direction that our Club takes with respect to growth, community partners, projects, and giving, among other things, in the years to come.

Following the conclusion of the Influencer Series meeting on Wednesday, Maud Duggan will be holding a “brainstorming” meeting at the Chanhassen American Legion for those who wish to become more involved with Humanity Alliance and ways for Humanity Alliance to promote and partner with some of our existing community “partners.”  Please reach out to Maud for further information.

“Miss a Meeting, Miss A Lot.”  Don’t miss out!!!
