A big Shout out from Connie and Furnishare to Earl Milbrath for volunteering at Furnishare for the past 2 weeks! You are making a huge difference for families in our community. Also, a special thanks to Mary, Michael and Patrick Furlong (future Rotarians) who hit the road with one of the Furnishare regular volunteer drivers and completed 4 pickups and a very large delivery on Saturday. And speaking of Furnishare, so much gratitude for the time and energy Tim Erhart has put in on helping them get a delivery truck. Watch for it on a street near you. They continue to be in of need of donated items.
Thank you to Ladd, Susan, Jim, Mike and any others that were involved in creating and displaying a sign of gratitude for our essential workers during this pandemic. It will be moved around town. You can view the sign at the Chan Dinner theatre this week.
Take a minute to decide, “what area am I willing to support this year?”
And then reach out to me or Matt Jones, our new president. We need you!!
One of the initiatives I have a passion around and have agreed to help spearhead this coming year is building community and understanding around racial equity. I have been asked to participate in a Carver County planning team and I help lead these efforts for the ECCS. Anyone who is interested in joining me to help our club move these efforts forward, give me a shout.
I want to thank Ann Voas and her accomplices for a fun farewell reverse parade at Lake Ann. I so appreciated seeing people in person until the rain blew in! Thank you all for your support and for your service to our club, community and world. You are amazing people who are dedicated to making a difference, even during these difficult times. I am honored to have served you as president and will continue to support the club. Our work is not over and we need everyone of you to make the difference that is so needed in our communities and world today. I know I often say, Rotarians don’t always sign up, but they show up! Right now we need you to SIGN UP and Show up! Thank you again, it has been an amazing year.
Stay Well
Jackie
